Context
Everyone loves food,
but ordering food - for some, can be
troublesome.
Customers spend an average of 109 seconds scanning a menu before deciding and research shows decision quality drops the longer that window extends. The problem hits both sides of the table: customers leave feeling less satisfied with choices they agonized over, and restaurants lose table turnover time on every indecisive diner.

What we found
40+ items is a blocker
Decision paralysis not only affects individuals' overall dining experience , it poses a direct challenge for restaurant businesses trying to optimise workflow efficiency.
Decision fatigue
When people are presented with a long list of options, they may become mentally fatigued, making it difficult for them to make a decision.
Value for money
When every item has a price, customers shift from "what do I want" to "what's worth it." That mental calculation adds time and often leads to regret regardless of what they choose.
Overwhelming decisions
A large menu with too many options can be overwhelming, and people may find it difficult to make a decision
Fear of missiing out
Once you've ordered, the menu keeps sitting there. Did I pick the best thing? What if the table next to me gets something better? FOMO doesn't end at checkout ,it follows you through the meal..
How might we reduce the cognitive load of options and empower people to make quicker decisions while ordering food?
